The Leather Collar
Full-grain. Hand saddle-stitched. Solid brass hardware.
Bench-made leather goods for the modern hound — hand saddle-stitched by master craftsmen, finished in solid brass, built to outlast every walk.
OAKMONT PET was founded on a simple belief: the dog who shares your home deserves the same quality of craftsmanship you give to yourself.
Our collars, leashes, and harnesses are bench-made in Sialkot, Pakistan — one of the world's quiet capitals of leather craft. Each piece is cut from a single hide of full-grain leather, hand saddle-stitched with waxed linen thread, and finished with solid cast brass hardware that will never tarnish.
We do not assembly-line our products. One craftsman builds the entire piece from start to finish at a single workbench — the way fine shoes, bespoke saddles, and Swiss watches have been made for over a century.
The inaugural Oakmont Pet collection is a complete daily wardrobe for the well-loved dog — built from full-grain leather, structured textile, and weatherproof shell.

We use only full-grain — the topmost, strongest, most beautiful layer of the hide. Vegetable-tanned for cognac and forest tones; chrome-tanned for jet black and burgundy. Every Oakmont collar will develop a richer patina with every walk.
Every buckle, every D-ring, every rivet is cast from solid brass. Never zinc alloy. Never plated. We acid-test every batch to confirm. Brass develops its own warm patina and will outlast cheaper alternatives by decades.
Waxed linen thread, eight stitches per inch minimum, hand-pulled through awl-punched holes. This is the same technique used by equestrian saddlers for over a century. Unlike machine stitching, a saddle stitch cannot unravel — even if one thread breaks.
We do not assembly-line. One craftsman builds the entire piece from start to finish — the same approach used by John Lobb, Allen Edmonds, and the world's finest shoemakers. Each Oakmont piece carries the mark of a single pair of hands.
Sialkot has supplied the world's finest surgical instruments for over a century. The same hands that demand zero millimeters of error in an operating theatre now stitch leather for the American hound.
